Fire Alarm
A fire alarm system is a set of electric/electronic devices/equipment working together to detect and alert people through visual and audio appliances when smoke/fire is present. These alarms may be activated from smoke detectors, heat detectors, water flow sensors, which are automatic or from a manual fire alarm pull station. Evacuation signals may consist of simple appliances that transmit un-coded information, coded appliances that transmit a predetermined pattern, and or appliances that transmit audible and visible textual information such as live or pre-recorded instructions, and illuminated message displays.

Emergency Light
Emergency lighting systems shall be designed and installed so that the failure of any individual lighting element, such as the burning out of a light bulb, cannot leave in total darkness any space that requires emergency illumination.
The emergency light shall fulfill the following functions:
- To indicate clearly and unambiguously the escape routes
- To provide illumination along such routes to allow safe movement towards and through the exits provided
- To ensure that fire alarm call points and firefighting equipment provided along es-cape routes can be readily located.
- To permit operations concerned with safety measures
Public Address & Voice Evacuation System
Public Address/ Announcement System (PA system) is an electronic sound amplifica-tion and distribution system with a microphone, amplifier and loudspeakers, used to allow a person to address a large public, for example for announcements of movements at large and noisy air and rail terminals. The term is also used for systems which may additionally have a mixing console, and amplifiers and loudspeakers suitable for music as well as speech, used to reinforce a sound source, such as recorded music or a person giving a speech or distributing the sound throughout a venue or building.
Simple PA systems are often used in small venues such as school auditoriums, churches, and small bars. PA systems with many speakers are widely used to make announcements in public transport, institutional and commercial buildings and locations. Intercom systems, installed in many buildings, have microphones in many rooms allowing the occupants to respond to announcements.
